I got your back Stork: Yes it did happen!

I'm pretty sure all of my pictures suck, but I was out on the boardwalk around 3:30 25th street they did a couple fly-bys in formation, as well as some other acrobatics back towards the west over VB.

Might as well bury my lede here:
Team won 3-0 yesterday, w/yours truely at #2 winning 6-4, 6-4. played really well despite pretty much not sleeping the night before, go figure. kinda carried my partner across a few rough spots. Love the courts here at ODU (Seriously, these put the VT courts to shame) Funny thing about winning 3-0 it doesn't get you far in trying to win the whole darn thing, but losing 0-3 you're pretty much out of it.

Played again this morning. Seemed like captain Dave was trying to ice me, eg, lying in bed, watching tv at 9pm to stay off my feet he calls a meeting at 9:30. Oh, Bob and I are not playing. OK. but we're substitutes just in case. Due diligence, follow my rituals load up, water up etc. Get there, get a phone call just as I'm walking in the place 'lag can you play!? Er, uh, yeah, of course. but even though I'm doing everything I should be doing my head's wandered off, so need to get back into it real fast.

7-6, 5-3. Wasn't feeling it but brough my B game today. (and I had my rough spots) spin all those serves in, 0 double faults. Get to the net. up 4-1 in first set tie-breaker but got loose, tied at 5-5. Win the next point, then my partner hits a net cord and the ball dribbles over. 50-50 got lucky, way it goes some times. Remember that for when it goes the other way. 2nd set up 5-2, my serve, this match is as good as over. er, nope. lose it but break back to win. Our other team choked, 6-7, 0-6 so uh, as captain Dave said, we saved the team's cookies. 3rd set was defaulted by the other team.

Someone made a John McEnroe joke yesterday and surely enough that happened, one of the guys on the other team (I wasn't there, this may have been yesterday) started cussing and did an FU to the USTA officials, not sure if he was ejected or exactly what happened but yeah, gave us the default today: good times!

One of our players (the team that choked) is former tv sportscaster for DC and Baltimore John Buren (Buren's his stage name, not his real name) just kinda funny when they cheering us on to hear this Howard Cosell-like voice, Down-goes-Frazier-uh-way-to-hammer-that-ball-they-are-fighting-to-win-the-point (etc)

One more round to win the flight, the other team is kinda doing the same thing, so this will be tough, then the two flights meet to determine who goes to nationals.
