Based on what you had, a pellet smoker might be a good option


Really easy and no baby sitting. Good wood smoke flavoring and nice temperature ranges.
Traegers are probably the most popular but I would look into some others. My neighbor has one that seems to me to have some pretty large temperature fluctuations.
It is all pretty much budget dependent.
