Yep, there are two ferries to/from Silver Lake (the harbor in Ocracoke)...


that are 2.5 hours long to mainland (Swan Quarter and Cedar Island). Ocracoke is 30 miles out and in the middle of those routes, you can't see any land for a period of time. The third ferry is the short route to Hatteras, with land visible during the while route.
