I drove cross country four times.

First: Maryland to San Diego to pre-position my car ahead of my PCS move. I took 4 days to drive straight through.

Second: Maryland to San Diego in my truck. I took 30 days (August), and drove up to Minnesota, across SD to the Badlands, Rapid City for a few days to see Deadwood, Rushmore, Sturgis, etc. Out to Yellowstone, through Jackson, Logan (UT), down to SLC. Back east to Park City, then Cheyenne, South to Denver, then due west stopping at a few ski resorts, then to Vegas, then on to San Diego. No skiing that trip.

Third: San Diego to Miami - straight drive. I'll never drove across 10 again...too boring waking up in Texas, then driving all day and you're still in Texas...lol

Fourth: San Diego to Miami. That took place during ski season, so I headed up to Mammoth, then Lake Tahoe, then Murray UT where I skied for several days, then headed east to VA to visit family. Afterwards I finally headed south to Miami.

If I didn't have a lawn to maintain, would consider doing another month long trip across America & back.
