As requested Mizzou preview

125 Prata vs. Punke
Not super familiar with Punke but a review of his last two seasons show low scoring affairs against all but the easiest competition. From the scrimmage I was very pleased with Prata's result, did not think he's perform that well against latona.

133 Gerardi vs Hart
Hart seems to be a very inconsistent wrestler based on results. He's got a few lower quality opens where he blows the doors off guys and then some regular season results that leave some to be desired. I want to see steady pressure from gerardi. Not sure where his weight is at, but this is a good early season guage.

141 Mitch vs butler
well i had a beautiful paragraph written on leeth and he scratched so we get butler instead. Shame as I felt Mitch was gonna be ready to rock and roll out of the gate. If the little brother wrestles like Blaise, expect a big move in this one. Over-under or double underhooks. Mitch has plenty of experience here and should be fine.

149 Brent vs Mauler
On paper mizzous best wrestler, but a bit of an unknown with regards to the season after his redshirt. Brent has shown that when he's locked in he can go with the best in the country. Obviously with his preseason battle with andonian there's been questions swirling, but of Brent shows up he can score a major upset. Things will be going well if like Mitch he can get to his front headlock. Look for Brent to hang there and tire mauller down to keep it tight in period 1 and 2. Also I'm interested to see Brent in the top position now, he looked Uber comfortable against andonian there and I think that could surprise the youngster (though I'm sure he rolls with eirman so uncertain). This one goes one of two ways, either Brent sets pace and it's a nailbiter or mauller controls.

157 Laprade vs. Jacques
One of the bright spots from last seasons dual, BC Got it done done in sudden victory last year. Jacques had a good showing at MACs last year before an up and down NCAA, but both wrestlers have likely grown since their last matchup. In a close dual this is the type of match that clinches it for the victor, a 6 point swing. If BC is doing well we will see chain wrestling with reattacks and counters.

165 McFadden vs. Mocco
This match is way less about Mocco and much more about how does the slimmer McFadden look. In preseason I've seen every indication he's on weight and ready to rock and these early contests should determine if that's true. If he's Makin weight easily and feels good were in business. The bad news is Mocco isnt a slouch either with a win over wonderkid David Carr last year. Here's the match: https://youtu.be/-XD0tdDGpow
From watching it mocco is comfortable in head to toe positions and I expect he and Dave will end up there multiple times. It'll all comes down to who finishes cleanly vs who is able to funk through em.

174 Hughes vs. Flynn
Folks will remember the disappointing 8-6 loss by mekhi last year to underscore Flynn's talent. Cody has been quietly under the radar thus far in his career and this is a match were he could make noise. Not sure he gets it done but it'll be exciting.

184 Bolen vs. Wisman
A pair of VA boys getting after it. At one point i was very hopeful we'd end up with Wisman before he took off out of state. Wisman has underperformed his hs recruiting ranking and it will be interesting to see how he's grown in the off-season. Bolen is gonna crush some guys and I think it starts here. Sneaky major decision to put 184 on notice.

197 smeltzer vs. koelling
Not sure who starts here but I'm putting smeltzer down based on wrestle off result. Whoever starts, I really hope they push the pace. We have too much talent at 197 to slowplay here. Not done enough koelling research to have a well qualified opinion.

285 Borst vs. Myers
Another interesting one here after the Elam scratch. At one point Myers was a Kentucky superrecruit Henson landed at wvu before his boot. Myers was an unknown with his ridiculous ky record (100+ wins undefeated at one point) and I think Dunn beat him at dapper dan. I felt he was slightly under sized and that should play well for borst especially cause there isn't a ton of danger of getting trapped under on unsuccessful shots.
