When does the Mandolorian take place?

Is this after all of the Star Wars movies, before them, or sometime in between?

My thought is it may be after, since it appears they've perfected carbonite freezing. Is the Star Wars movies (VI?), they required a huge facility do freeze Solo, where the Mandolorian just shoved the alien into the box and pushed the button.
