Wrestling rankings are different
We honestly probably don’t make that much of a jump unfortunately. Since there is no dual national championship dual meets don’t mean much when it comes to a ranking perspective. You look at the individual matchups and what they do for said wrestler. We should move up slightly based on our individual successes. I believe Ohio State takes the bigger hit here though in the rankings. I’ve broken down how this result effects things.
125
Prata might crack the rankings or be just on the outside. To the powers that be this may mean Heillman just isn’t that good and drop him out of the rankings. Depends on how people look at it
VT- Big or Slight rise OSU- Big or slight drop
133
Kinner beating Phillippi makes this a possible move into the top 10 range for Gerardi. Kinner actually doesn’t hurt himself too badly by losing to Gerardi as his win over Phillippi probably still has him climbing a little.
VT- Medium rise OSU- Medium rise
141
No change for either wrestler
149
Brent is 1-2 against some of the best at the weight. He probably moves a few spots, but quick pins like that are often treated as throwaway matches. Sasso stays in the top 8 probably and in the eyes of most this loss doesn’t mean anything.(It should!!!!)
VT- Slight rise OSU- Slight drop
157
No change for either wrestler.
165
VT- I would honestly be surprised if they move DMF down from #4. Ethan Smith obviously gets a bump, but I don’t think DMF moves.
VT- No change OSU- Big rise
174
No change as neither wrestler is ranked
184-Hwt
No change as ranked wrestlers beat non ranked wrestlers.
So in all I would expect any crazy changes.
