The big boys better put money into two areas: motors and batteries


One thing Tesla does better than anyone is protect the batteries and give them a very long life. Did anyone notice the Nissan Leaf battery pack lifespan? Pretty short. If anyone wants to compete with Tesla, they better bring their "A-game."

I know they can beat him on "fit and finish" if they choose to do so. But will they put the money into making batteries last as long as possible, or will they work towards "planned obsolescence?" If I was a betting man, would put my money on the latter... They also better put money into electric motor design too! Not sure if anyone's motors can match Tesla's.
