UPS is up to some shenanigans.

I ordered something that was estimated to be delivered yesterday. It didn't show up. No worries. I checked online this morning.
It arrived in Mechanicsville, VA (about 90 mins away) 6:31 PM Dec 4th.
Current status: Severe weather conditions have delayed delivery.
Have my Richmond friends experienced some weird weather anomaly that I am not aware of and has not been reported on by any news outlets?
Or is UPS acting like an airline and just saying it's weather in order to cover up their own delay?
