... is an unusual course for which there aren't many analogues in the US. The most similar courses are all in the Australian sandbelt (Kingston Heath, etc.), all with similar soil/climate conditions.

If had to pick a US comparable, it would be Shinnecock -- under June/July conditions. But last time I looked it's December in Southampton.
