and have time, take the bullet train to Nagoya (1:45) and take the subway (and walk a 1/2 mile) and go to the Toyota car museum. Quite the collection of exotic cars from around the world, not just old Toyotas.

If you like sashimi, go to the fish market early in the am - it is quite the place - and have tuna sashimi for breakfast. Other fun thing to do is go to Kaitenzushi (sushi on a conveyor belt). In most you can special order what ever you want and it is delivered to you spot on the belt, or just select off the conveyor. The price is based on the plate and very inexpensive.

If you want to see the busiest walking intersection in the world, go to Shibuya (shibuya station). To get a great view go to Mags Park on the rooftop of the Shibuya 109-2 department store or across the intersetion go to the second floor of the Starbucks.

If you want electronic shopping go to Akihabara, but make sure you exit the correct side of the station.

If you want to see Pandas go to Ueno Zoo in Ueno park across fro Ueno station. There are also 2 museums there as well. Shame you are not going for Cherry blossom time as the park is beautiful. Also in Ueno is Ameyayokocho Market, which is several streets that run along and under the train. Lot of neat stores as well as junk. Ate chocolate crickets there.

You could go to the space tower or the TV tower. For a short trip, I prefer the TV Tower - it looks like the eiffle tower and there are generally shorter lines. There is also the Zojoji Temple (buddist) near the base of the tower.

As to food, most people know sushi and Ramen noddles, but you can try Yakitori (chicken on skewers), Okonomiyaki ( savory pancakes) or sabo bowls. You could also ask the hotel about local izakaya which is a type of informal Japanese bar that serves alcoholic drinks and food. They can be hit or miss, but great place to meet locals.

That's the list off the top of my head. I spent 4 years in Tokyo and Nagoya and loved the food and people, just not the tons of people everywhere. Ride the subway during rushhour to get a feel for that - just don't go in the female only cars.
