Brooks's has 2 more years on his contract...

He'll make $600,000 next season and $625,000 in his 6th season. If Brooks were fired after this season, Tech would owe Brooks $1.2 million. His job is safe for at least another 1.5 seasons. I can't see Whit throwing away $625,000 in Brooks' final season, so maybe Brooks is our head coach until his contract expires. If he can make it to the NCAA tournament this season, there's a chance Brooks gets an extension? That will be a tough call for Whit to make. Maybe Whit waits to see if Brooks can make it to the Big Dance 2 years in a roll before giving him an extension. If Whit doesn't give Kenny a contract extension by the end of the 2020-2021 season, it will likely hurt recruiting and be a telling sign that he won't be coaching Tech WBB after his 5th or 6th season. The next month and a half are very important for Kenny's future as Tech WBB coach.
