I looked to see if Amazon has a cable DVR, but couldn't find one.

Their OTA (over the air) DVR one looks nice, but I would wait for the next generation of it. It has a few shortcomings with current technology, and don't think a software patch will solve them.

I have a OTA antenna that I plan to install in my attic, and will run that as an additional feed to my televisions. OTA signals are not compressed, so if you have good reception, you'll have a better picture for network television than what your cable company will (can) provide (with their compressed signal). I'll eventually add a OTA DVR (probably the next gen Amazon one), and record my network shows on it.

I'm living with "one foot in" and "one foot out" from "cutting the cord"...lol I'll be a step closer to out after I run the RG6 (cable TV wiring) throughout my house for OTA broadcasts.
