Name a band or artist where the albums generally got better and better?

As in, in my U2 post below, it was generally agreed that their earlier stuff was better. One person @MAHokie69 made a point in his reply that

"not as strong as their earlier stuff. But then, whose is?"

So that's the question. What musical act consistently released BETTER albums as their career went on?
