Our offense was stagnant and predictable vs. State. Quick and aggressive guards cause problems for State. I'll give Kenny credit for having Cole drive to the basket but State figured that out in the 2nd half. Unfortunately, Tech only has one quick guard. A few games this season I imagined us having Emery on the floor with Cole. That duo would've created some problems for defenses. Kenny needs to recruit quick athletic guards. I don't see any on our team next season. Sheppard is athletic but she's not quick. The incoming freshmen are similar to Sheppard in quickness. Kenny has one more scholarship to give this spring. I'm torn between him once again getting an athletic and quick JUCO guard or graduate transfer (like he's done the past few years) or getting help in the post for Kitley and Obouh-Fegue (especially since Rivers is graduating. The Emery and Cole signings were band-aids to temporarily fill some needs. I'd love to see Kenny finally sign a few quick and athletic guards (like Hicks, Emery, and Cole) as true freshmen. Like I said, the film on his incoming recruits doesn't show that kind of speed.
