Not that we lost, but that we got run-ruled. I expected that we would lose this one - I thought Carrie would beat us 2-1 or 3-2.

Instead, we looked completely lost at times. BUT, BUT, BUT, it’s only one game.

Keely has the heart of a champion. She kept plugging away in spite of everything that was going against her. At the time, I was critical of Pete for not making a pitching change earlier, but when he did, it became clear why he waited.

I still think Hewitt will be fine, but this isn’t high school, and she’ll need to grow little by little. When she bounced that first warm up pitch halfway to the plate, I sensed it was not going to be a good experience. Still, she’ll learn from it.

For now, it’s all on Keely’s shoulders. She had a ton of Ks today and at times, looked dominating.

As for post-game, there were no hugs anywhere. My feeling is that the Hokies were not in a hugging mood, and Carrie is not the type to rub it in.

Tomorrow is a new day and a new opportunity. We have to get better defensively or it won’t matter who is in the circle.
