I've been there, twice...

but I was always able to get up and do what needs to be done, and get right back to sleep instantly. and I STILL have to do that with 6,7 yos.... when they get bloody noses or get sick, or lose their teddy bear. If you can't do that, you have to just suck it up.... but, what can help...

Go to sleep 30 minutes earlier.... or time you sleep so you get up at a time your body is usually not in deep sleep. Think 90 minute cycles.

Use white noise to help you stay in deeper sleep.

And probably the best advice is to think of this as helping out your WIFE. She went though a lot. She is upset about her body. It was wrecked. She is ALSO sleep deprived, BUT she also has to pump milk and produce milk. Us guys have it EASY!! So, losing a little sleep is really NOTHING in the grand scheme of things. You are letting her get some much-needed, continuous rest... which, for her is gold.
