Masks for everyone in public seems unfeasible. There are 350 million


people in the U.S. How do you get everyone a mask? Also, shutting down all travel into or out of the U.S.? Do you strand American citizens that went overseas on business or pleasure trips? Who pays for their hotel stays, food, etc. while they are unable to travel back home? Are they responsible for that? What if they can't pay?

Closing schools is feasible. Canceling events is feasible. Quarantining areas with outbreaks is possible but difficult to carry out, especially without a authoritarian regime in power. The U.S. is not China, and the government can't just say, "No one in or out of Seattle for two weeks," without it going through layers and layers of approvals, protests, etc.
