The Hokies head to Northern Virginia on Tuesday for a pair of midweek games against Atlantic 10 opponents George Washington (8-13) and George Mason (7-11). The Tuesday game at GW is scheduled for 3:00pm and the Wednesday game at George Mason is set for 4:00pm. It appears both games will be streamed on ESPN+

George Washington is coming off the most successful year in program history – a year that saw the Colonials record 44 wins, a share of the Atlantic 10 title, and a post season bid to the National Invitational Softball Championship.

The Colonials were picked as A-10 co-favorites this season, but they have been hit with the loss of First Team All Conference Pitcher Sierra Lange, who suffered an off-season injury and has been unable to play this season. However, they do have the 2019 A 10 Player of the Year Jennifer Cone anchoring the infield and leading the team in hitting (.387).

George Mason was picked seventh in the Atlantic 10 and lost 9 of their first 10 games this season. However, the Patriots are on a 4 game winning streak, having the run the table this past weekend at the Mason Invitational, defeating Canisius, Cornell, Buffalo, and Hofstra.

Massey predicts Hokies' wins of 8-0 and 8-1, which seems about right after looking at the teams. However, there's a reason you play the game, so the Hokies will need to be focused, dialed in, and NOT looking ahead to NC State.
