And also, there are still some companies that don't have a VPN setup to properly route only intranet packets through the VPN. So if you are on one of those setups and you watch Netflix (or the NCAA tournament) on your PC, then all of that is getting shunted through your company's network.

I have at least two customers that just use Windows VPN and it shunts everything through the network to them.
