12hr flight, made it to Guangzhou. I parked the jet at 1030p local and didn’t get to my hotel room until 130a. In between we filled out multiple redundant forms, multiple times - on paper and online, 5-6 body temp checks had 2 throat swabs (4 pokes/3 gags, 3 pokes/3 gags, one of which almost brought up chunks), more paperwork checks and passport checks and finally made it to the hotel, which wouldn’t be complete without 1 more body temp check and more health forms.

Can’t leave the room, but I get a meal delivered at 10a, another at 5p, and 2 pieces of laundry done. No heat or AC but the fans run, go figure. Most importantly, the minibar is free, and second most importantly is my trip was revised and I’ll only be here 20hrs, then off to Osaka for 40hrs, then back to China (Shanghai) for 24 hrs, where I will go through a similar process. 😫
