Looking back, why do we celebrate Jordan's flu game?

Jeopardizing the health/safety of others, all for his big fat ego?

And if a similar situation happened in current times (how about the Lakers, with LeBron) --- how would the NBA handle?

(in no way am I implying Covid = the regular flu; just trying to understand why people would be ok with Sick Person infecting others at 0.1% Death Rate, but then 1-2% is where we draw the line)
