My point was the ridiculous mischaracterization as picking winners and
losers. Legislators and executives make all kinds of choices about all kinds of things on a sliding scale. Whether it's tax rates or workplace safety requirements or speed limits or any number of things, similar activities are treated differently. That's just making judgment calls about benefits and costs. It's not some philosophically bad thing about picking winners and losers
