Seems to me .....


that there are 3 approaches. Quality, Quality and Quantity, and Quantity. With the approach of quality and quantity a program can be nationally competitive. With only quality they might be nationally competitive but, taking home the championship is still going to be tough. With quantity they can probably score enough points to compete but, they will never be a contender for the top spot. Finally, when you have a tough time attracting top quality and you are reducing numbers I think we all know where that eventually lands a program.
