I enjoyed it when Ty Walz kept them out of the top 10 at the 2016 NCAAs...


... by losing!

That was the year we finished 4th. Ty was wrestling in the 3rd place match against Michigan's Adam Coon, and they went to sudden victory. Ty had a good scoring chance in SV but couldn't finish. He ended up getting taken down late in SV off a not-so-great shot. He had already lost at that point, and didn't fight hard to avoid the fall. That gave Coon and Michigan two bonus points.

Final team scores:

9. Illinois 50.5
9. Michigan 50.5
11. NC State 49.0
