The reality is that Football and to a lesser degree basketball pays the bills for almost all athletic departments across the country but even more so is a major contributor to universities as a whole. Without the money from football and it’s donors not only will low-revenue sports dry up, major projects throughout VT will be shelved, and I would expect some private universities to close all together.
