so all of us drove tractors before we were 10 (not strong enough yet to throw hay bales on the wagon, so the youngsters always drove), milked many cows, and helped in the delivery of many calves. I generally disliked living on the farm as a kid, but in many ways it was a great life experience.

However, we never had chickens, and I never directly picked up any eggs until recently as I take care of some friends chickens in Blacksburg when they go on vacation.
