I don't have very much respect for Drew Brees.
This is the second time he's said something with a lot of conviction and then seemed to totally back down when the mob came after him. The first time was after he appeared in video put out by "Focus on the Family" and then faced backlash because of that organization's stance on gay marriage. Brees claimed ignorance about that and distanced himself from the organization when he realized people were coming for his head.
I'm neither agreeing nor disagreeing with Brees' personal convictions, but I have a hard time respecting people who have a habit of pushing their beliefs in a public venue and then backing down when that stance begins to cause them personal hardship. As far as I'm concerned, if you aren't willing to stand up for your what you believe in, then you should keep those beliefs to yourself.
