Person as best they can but sometimes that is not possible. Whether or not it is because they don’t have PHD’s in mental health care is not the cops fault. That would be our fault for not hiring those people. Good look finding people with PHD’s in mental health willing to be cops. Sometimes you just have to accept we are all human including cops & we’re doing the best we can but bad things happen. If a family is scared enough to call police because their crazy loved one is in a rage w/a gun or knife then they don’t get to claim he wouldn’t hurt a bee after the crazy person gets shot for charging the cop. A cops life is valuable, too & again if the public thinks we need some one else to handle those situations then hire them but you don’t get to throw the cop under the bus because the public hasn’t hired those people. Far to often the family switches to insurance scam mode.

The “Sane” public should also take a role in deescalating interactions with cops. Just because you get pulled for a faulty brake light doesn’t give a sane person the right to go ballistic or pitch a tantrum with a cop. We see that all the frigging time. Take personal responsibility for yourself. We all get pulled for minor offenses. Some of us more often depending upon the time of day you’re driving. If it’s late at night, expect to be hassled. You are at risk if your car isn’t working 100% & you aren’t using turn signals or staying in your lane. I’d match my number of times getting hassled by cops against anyone including a minority in the country any time they want but I don’t throw a fit, go into a rage or become non compliant and obstinate like some “sane” people do.

Our police force is a reflection of what the public is willing to pay & the allocation of those dollars. If the right people aren’t hired that’s our fault not the police. You sure don’t hire more talented people be defunding the police.

I’ve never been to barber school or the police academy so I won’t debate the amount of training either person goes through. Have you? If a barber goes to barber school to get a license couldn’t we give a license to a cop upon successful completion of the police academy? Your argument is lame so it’s my right to disagree with your lame “facts“.
