"Publix, where it's a pleasure to shop". Yeah, there is no doubt that
Publix has set out to capture a market, and they are wildly successful. It is a very unique business that stresses customer service. It is also employee owned, which helps to ensure everyone is working toward the same goals. Except the cashiers and the baggers, haha. They get nothing and like it. No full time, no benefits, no stocks, etc. I don't care, so much ( i was only working there one day a week), but I really find that...uh...divisive? Weird? Pretty sure you would want the cashiers happy as they are the proverbial "face of the company". That part made no sense.
But Publix is crazy expensive compared to Wynn-Dixie. Gotta pay for all of those benefits. And I shop at W/D (which is a small step above a 3rd world market), because I cashier at Publix, haha. We cashiers laugh when we see each other at WD, too. We revel in our bottom caste status. =)
