Yeah, I watched it too.


I'm always highly critical of Roland Emmerich's movies. The're big on graphics, and short on storyline and dialogue (and historical accuracy, if it's a movie based on history).

It was better than I thought it would be. I thought the writing was poor, as I figured it would be. I thought the battle scenes were overcooked, as expected. And of course, he made early WW2 divebombers do things they couldn't do. But it wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be. I give it a 5.5 out of 10.

I gave it an extra 0.5 because Emmerich managed to avoid writing in a scene where Randy Quaid goes back in time and sinks the Akagi with an F-18 while screaming "Up yours!"
