For me it's more about the people those people infected. If not wearing a

mask simply meant you were more likely to get it then fine knock yourself out (kind of like not wearing a helmet). But that's not the case. The person who refuses to wear a mask "because this is Merica" is just as likely to infect and sicken others as he is himself. Agree completely with your last sentence. Our response to this pandemic has been embarrassing on multiple levels.
