This buddy of mine works in some sort mining operation on the other side of the county. Not quite sure what they're digging for. Diamonds, or coal, or sand or something. Well, anyway things have been slow at his work due to Covid-19. Kinda tough cramming all those black lunged miners into a tight shaft, and not come back with the virus.

But my buddy likes what he does, and absolutely loves his manager over there. So since it's been slow he thought he'd surprise his boss by doing something nice for the guy during his off hours. Seems the boss-man loves the lawn around the office. Likes to keep things trim, if you know what I mean. Even though they're strip mining this mountaintop. So on his own, he took the company mower home and was working on getting it all in ship shape. Sharpening blades, giving it a tune up. Was even painting that beauty in maroon & orange cause the boss is a Hokie and would be the envy of the ladies in the office driving that thing around..
So anyway, I guess he was taking too long and the grass got too high, so the manager accuses my buddy of stealing the mower. My bud was flustered when accused because he didn't want to spoil the surprise. But before he could produce the Hokie mower to his mining mentor, the guy fired him. Can you believe that? Over a mower. My bud is heartbroken.
Now he just drives that mower up and down the highway aimlessly in a fit of sobbing confusion. Can't figure out how to help the guy.
