The food insecurity problems those regions ALREADY had from nationwide poverty and poor management. Some of those places are probably so at risk a flooded out road could lead to the same things.

The shocker would be if any children in America died BECAUSE of food not being available to them. And even if it was claimed that it was the case, I would bet it had more to do with poor parental decisions and not their accessibility to food.
