Don't spend 1000s for an outdoor unless it is in a place rain could get it

I totally agree with this logic "I could buy 3-4 indoor over the next 6-8 years as replacements for the price of one legit outdoor TV". I had a screened in porch with a fireplace built recently and put an indoor Samsung TV above it since Jan this year with no cover on it. It has been fine. Bought a cover just in case of a Tropical Storm or Hurricane but you should be fine unless somehow rain can get to it.
