Well, just last month a friend's daughter suggested

that her mother (my friend) change what she was wearing because it looked like a Karen dress.

My friend replied " It's not a Karan dress (referring to the designer Donna Karan)."

The daughter laughed hysterically and my friend didn't get it. We talked about it at length.

I knew that the media had been referring to women who showed attitudes and went on rants (especially white women) as "Karens". I never understood why the media chose that name. Why not a Donna? (as in prima donna lol)

But more recently, other groups of people are using the term among some black and Latino women as well.

Bottom line: She didn't change her dress. I guess she really is a Karen.

(my sister-in-law is named Karen. Hates it now)
