In some ways I equate it to the debate about kids knowledge of firearms


No matter what your opinion of firearms is, making your kid afraid of them and avoiding an understanding of them is a dangerous game.

Giving them a basic understanding of them, how they function and a healthy respect for them will put them in a position to make intelligent choices when they encounter one.

Education and understanding are the key to helping our kids make good decisions when we can't be there to make them for them.
