What a different time. My first trip to Blacksburg with some HS buddies was

probably around 1972. Drove from Roanoke in search of a place called "Blueridge Outfitters"(?) for some backpacking gear (stoves, sigg bottles, etc.). As I recall it was in the second floor of one of the buildings on Main St. that you accessed from a staircase around back.
