Maybe, but no, not between the school and the "Downtown Victor" business

district.

The only theory my wife and I had the first time we saw those signs was (once we ruled out skateboarding) "They must just be trying to get extra attention to this crossing. Drivers might zone out if they see a normal pedestrian crossing or children crossing sign, but 'surfer crossing' catches your attention.

But then again, maybe you're looking at the sign wondering "Did I see that right?" as you plow into a kid.
