I saw "Top Gun" last weekend for the first time ever. Yeah, yeah, I know..

how could I ignore such a classic for so long. And yes, I was right smack in that movie's demographic when it came out, but for whatever reason it never interested me enough to get me to the theater, nor to rent it or even watch it on cable for the subsequent 34 years.

So on a 'family movie night', I finally saw it. My verdict? I didn't miss much. Selfish hot shot pilot learns the value of team work, culminating in a 'that would never happen' fight with the Russians. Roll credits. Very 'meh'.
