Is it wrong that I'm actually starting to (kinda/sorta) like Walmart for

groceries?

The 2 grocery options closest to us are BJ's Warehouse Club, and Walmart. We are BJs members, and go there pretty frequently, but there's some things that you either can't get there, or that you don't want to buy in bulk.

So when it's just a quick grocery run, Walmart is convenient. But I'm discovering that, yes, the prices are better, and if you are ok with their "Great Value" brand, then they're a LOT lower.

I actually like Great Value hot dog and hamburger rolls. Tough to beat at $.88 per package. Same with a basic loaf of wheat bread. Tastes just fine for a sandwich or toast, but $1 for a pack. Hamburger Dill pickle chips are pretty much a commodity, and the GV brand is a lot less. Rold Gold or Snyder's pretzels don't taste 2.5 times as good. Heck, I even got a great looking head of cauliflower there today, which I wouldn't usually buy at Walmart, but it looked great and was only $2.77. Bagged loaf of Italian bread? $1.

And they have the buying power, I guess, to stay stocked. For some reason there was a shortage of Ortega Medium Taco Sauce, which we DO prefer when we have tacos. For some reason, for a number of weeks straight, I couldn't find it at Wegman's or Tops....but Walmart had it when I finally checked there....and cheaper too.

It won't become my primary grocery option, but there are some things I'm actually preferring to get from there just from a value perspective.
