Interesting VA ABC factoid ...

You can buy liquor in Virginia ABC stores the day BEFORE you turn 21. I know this now because my son turns 21 tomorrow and just sent me a picture of himself buying Tequila and the sign says 11/11/1999 rather than 11/10/1999.

I heard two theories as to why this is true. The first is that technically he is now 20 years and 365 days (especially considering this is a leap year) so they slide it a day. The second is that prior to ABC stores being open on Sunday, those who turned 21 on Sunday were screwed so they started sliding it one day ... the extra revenue likely doesn't hurt them. I am leaning towards theory number 2 but it is something I was not aware of before today.
