Cases but I'd say there's less percentage wise compared to other large employers.
There has been 1 case at my school of about 400 kids. There have been some schools in the county that have had 5 or 6 cases like Blacksburg Middle, but overall there hasn't been an "outbreak". I think they had to get rid of the whole "no indication of transmission at school" because a few teachers have passed it to another. I don't think it's due to being in class together. These cases have slowly filtered in over the last month and we went from 1 a week in the county to about 6 or 8. Like I said, you'd think if it was amongst the students, the numbers would be skyrocketing. I think it's more common that these people are getting it at church or other places. The passing on is more likely among staff that may be hanging out together outside school.
I feel very safe in my classroom. Surfaces are being cleaned and masks are being worn. We don't have meetings in big groups and only a few teachers eat lunch together in one room.
That's not saying it won't "explode" among the students, but I don't think it is... Nor do I believe it will at my school. Middle and high schools have a harder time because students are more.... How should I say this.... "Independent".
