Penderecki, the father of a unique sound

I have Hornsby and Penderecki on my iPod, while Hornsby without a doubt was more commercially successful I think Penderecki made the inarguably larger impact on music as art. If you think you don't know him think of the sound of The Shining, (which also employed the avant garde composer and recent birthday celebrator Wendy Carlos), The Exorcist, and Children of Men.
