Yup. My first time ever at VT proved both sides of the coin. I visited
for a scholarship competition in February of 1984. It was (for February) pretty decent weather in Rochester. Some sun, 40 degrees or so.
As we drove down to Blacksburg, it started raining in PA, freezing rain in WV and MD and then snow in Virginia. By the time we got to Blacksburg, snow was about 6 inches. I'm thinking to myself "I'm heading south to get away from this shit?"
BUT.....the very next day in Blacksburg it got up to almost 70 degrees, all 6 inches melted, and I was then thinking to myself "OK....it DOES snow...but it goes away."
