Yikes.

In our case, my theory is that "something" followed my wife/daughter home from an estate sale back in the summer. My wife told me there was a small cemetery on the property where the sale was held, and that the property had been in the family of the deceased since the late 1700s. She bought a few small items at the sale, one of which was a small painting of row houses in Charleston, SC.

A few days later, I was home alone and the TV suddenly turned itself on while I was in the room. At that time, I didn't think much of it. Then two days later the picture that my wife had purchased at the sale fell off the wall as I was approaching. That's when I started to take notice of things. Since then, a few other "odd" things have happened (odd flash of light in my peripheral vision, weird electrical glitches, and a ball rolled off the top of a basket of toys and across the room while I was nearby).

But probably the weirdest thing to date happened in October. My best friend came to town for a few days, and I had told him about the odd things that had been going on, so he started telling about a weird experience he once had. Then as he was telling a super freaky story his friend experienced, a potato that was sitting on our kitchen counter suddenly started moving back and forth, as if it had been disturbed and was rocking side to side as it settled to rest. I saw it out of the corner of my eye and immediately turned to look at it. I just started laughing and pointed to the potato, looked at my wife (a skeptic) and said, "See!" She reluctantly admitted that she saw it, and that it was pretty weird.

Since then nothing much new has happened, and I've never felt scared. But it is definitely a weird feeling to think something like that might actually be going on around you.
