(Production note: We are not strict adherents of crating our dogs.)

For our past three canines, prior to little JB, no crate was ever considered as a means of channeling a dog away from bad habits. But LJB began to show a propensity for chewing up stuff dogs don't own (and therefore see no value in), and TSO grabbed this crate from Target last Wednesday. It has worked like a charm - ever since we set it up, and without ever leading her into it, she simply quit her bad chew habit. Win-win.

Plan A was to begin to feed her closer and closer to the crate and then put her food in the crate with the door open to get her warmed up to the idea of being in the crate.

Today she just went in there on her own. This is as close to saying my daughter got accepted to Tech today as I'll ever get.
