and I'm retired now. For a long time it was that restaurant that was open 24/7 not an exciting thought now but when you're growing up back in the 70s and in your teens sorta represented the demimonde in a fairly still quiet town. eg, stay up "after midnight" and hopefully, after a crazy night eventually end up there to eat.

Heading over to my dad's tonight for dinner in Vienna, we used to go out a lot just in the last couple years and Amphora was one of the standbys. (I actually like Caboose now, though limited menu) I'll admit it was getting crappier lately but otoh always had a variety of stuff in case you wanted something different. It also represents that classic Greek restaurant that you find in the South, every fair sized town seemed to have one, used to be one in Williamsburg just across from the W&M Wren house. Had everything from Greek food to hamburgers, hotdogs and pizzas, and most excitingly of all breakfast menus at any time of the day. So maybe a little history moving on too. Amphora seems to have changed hands a dozen times since then.

Ah well, way of the world.
