They are certainly up there

I think about that a lot, who is the greatest.

They have three periods that are huge.

1. The early days/brian jones era - mommy's little helper, satisfaction, paint it black. This is almost like this era where they are more like the beatles kinda, working within the system.

2. The mick taylor years - all the albums on that link for the most part. This era is as good as led zep or anyone in my opinion

3. The ron wood era - Some Girls and Tattoo You can hang with anyone. They sounds less garage band than number 2

I have a hard time thinking who else has three phases this meaningful honestly
