Well, I learned something new today . . .
When I was at VT, I pretty much paid my way through school by working as the "sound guy" for a lot of the local bands. I owned a complete P.A. system and a van, and I would set it up at 117 South Main, Daddy's Money, Lucky's (in Radford), etc. and mix the show for around $100/night. Anyway, I worked for quite a few "Dead" type jam bands, such as The Kind & The Loco-Motives. Ever so often, someone would come up to me at the sound board and ask me if I had any acid. I always wondered why this kept happening, but now I suspect it was because of the "legend" of Owlsley Stanley.
